Mindy Walker begins her first season as the assistant volleyball coach at Peru State.  Coach Walker, a native of Holdrege, NE was a 1986 graduate of Holdrege high school.  She earned her B.S. degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from UN-Kearney in 1991.  In addition, she added endorsements in coaching and athletic training. 

Walker adds 16 years of volleyball coaching experience, including fourteen years as a high school head coach, to the Bobcats staff.  She began her career in 1991-92 when she served as the head coach at Silver Lake.  She followed with stints at Blue Hill (1993), Holdrege (1994-2005) and most recently at Auburn (2006).  As a head coach, Walker’s teams reached the District title game on five different occasions.

 Walker is married and her husband Kevin is the Assistant Principal and Activities Director at Auburn High School.  The couple has a daughter Rachel (7) and a new addition to the family is due in October.  Coach Walker is currently enrolled at Peru State working toward a M.S. Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
