Monique McDuffie to Play
Basketball at Peru State
(PERU, NE)
Monique McDuffie originally from Dunn, NC and a 2008
graduate from Boys Town High School in Omaha has
signed an NAIA Letter of Intent to attend Peru State
College and play basketball for Coach Maurtice Ivy
and the Bobcats.
After playing most of her high school career in
North Carolina, McDuffie transferred to Boys Town
for her senior year and made an immediate impact.
McDuffie displayed her versatility for Boys Town
often playing point guard and low post during games
and averaged 15.6 points and 16.7 rebounds per game
for the Cowboys. McDuffie earned several post-season
awards including: 1st team All-Conference,
Huskerland Prep-3rd team All-State, Omaha
World-Herald Honorable Mention All-State, Lincoln
Journal Star Honorable Mention All State, and Omaha
World-Herald All-Area Honorable Mention. McDuffie
was also selected to play in the Omaha Boys & Girls
Club All-Star game. She plans on pursuing a degree
in Psychology with an emphasis in social work at
Peru State.
