York upsets Bobcats 5-3
in MCAC tournament
Parkville,
MO- York College (12-23), the #4 seed entering the
MCAC tournament, tallied five runs in the third
inning and made them stand in eliminating the
Bobcats 5-3 in semi-final action Saturday in
Parkville. The Bobcats (25-22 overall) now await the
decision of the Region committee whether or not they
will advance to region competition.
The Bobcats were held to only five hits in the
contest with Jen Siedlik (Omaha) leading the charge
going 2-for-2. The 'Cats were unable to take
advantage of seven free passes by York pitching,
however, York turned the tables scoring three of
their runs via Bobcat errors and walks in the
fateful third inning. Lauren Fiori (Colorado
Springs, CO) went the distance for PSC in the circle
scattering eight hits in taking the loss.
