Bobcats Jeff McQuinn Named First Team Pre-Season
All-American
Peru State senior defensive end Jeff McQuinn, a 2003
graduate of Lewis Central High School in Council
Bluffs, IA, has been named to the prestigious Street
and Smith's Preseason All- American first team.
McQuinn had
a breakout season in 2006 leading the Bobcats
defense with 12.5 sacks from his pass rushing
position as the 'Cats rolled to a 7-4 record.
McQuinn, an All-CSFL selection in 2006, was also
named to the 2006 National Football Coaches
Association post season All-American team. McQuinn
will be a marked man in '07 and the 6'3", 255
pounder will prove to be a difficult man to handle
up front leading Head Coach Terry Clark's defense.
McQuinn has also been named to the Victory Sport's
Network "Super 72" squad being one of six defensive
linemen on that preseason list.
"Jeff came
in as a walk on in 2003 and has developed himself
into an outstanding player," said Coach Clark. "Like
so many great Bobcats have in the past, Jeff took
advantage of the opportunities that were given to
him."
The 2007
Bobcats report to fall practice on August 12th and
will open the season at the Oak Bowl on Saturday,
September 1st against Dakota Athletic Conference
rival Jamestown College. Kick-off is at 1:00 p.m.
