Five Bobcats Named
Daktronics-NAIA
Academic All-Americans in Football
(PERU, NE) It was officially announced recently that
five members of the 2007 Peru State College football
team have been named to the Daktronics-NAIA Academic
All-American football team.
The Bobcats receiving the honor include senior
Tyler DeBuhr (Auburn), senior
Jared Gerdes (Auburn),
junior
Tony Janssen (Auburn), senior
Lynn Meyer
(Johnson) and senior
Bryan Miller (Nebraska City).
Peru State head coach Terry Clark stated, "These
gentlemen worked extremely hard to receive the
Academic All-American status. This honor is
something that has been an individual goal they have
set each year that they have been a Bobcat."
In order to be a recipient of the NAIA-Daktronics
Scholar-Athlete award, one must fulfill these
requirements: the recipient must be a junior or
above in academic standing; has been in attendance
at the nominating institution a minimum of one full
year of attendance; has a minimum grade point
average (GPA) of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) at the time
of nomination at the nominating institution; has
been certified as eligible.
