Bobcats Shane Ryan Named
Defensive MVP at Victory Sports Network Senior
Classic
PLATTE
CITY, MO. - The second annual Victory Sports Network
"Senior Classic" saw plenty of offense as the
Nationals downed the Americans, 29-21. The win by
the Nationals evens the all-time record at one win a
piece for each team in the game. Three Peru State
Bobcats participated in the contest including
Greeley native Shane Ryan who was named defensive
MVP for the American squad. Ryan collected seven
tackles from his linebacker position during the
contest, four of them unassisted. Also playing for
the American squad were DE Jeff McQuinn (Council
Bluffs, IA) and WR Eli Brown (Lincoln). McQuinn
picked up one sack for minus seven yards while Brown
hauled in two passes for 26 yards including a 22
yard catch-run play. "This year's game was
tremendous," said Jason Dannelly of the Victory
Sports Network. "Considering these players had only
two practices to put in the offense it was amazing
to see how quickly they were able to learn it and
perfect it.
