Buena Vista Rallies to
Down Bobcats
(Auburn,
NE) Buena Vista University rallied from a 6-1
deficit and defeated the Bobcats 9-6 in Sunday
afternoon baseball action. The second game was
postponed due to rain. The game was played in Auburn
due to unplayable field conditions in Peru. The loss
drops the 'Cats to 7-9-1 for the year.
"It was a very disappointing loss," said Bobcats
coach Jason Cronin. "We once again let a large lead
get away from us, we need to learn how to put teams
away when we have them down." The Bobcats took a 6-1
lead into the fifth inning before BVU started the
comeback. A three run Beaver seventh inning broke a
6-6 deadlock.
Matt Martin (Omaha) started on the mound for PSC and
went five innings allowing five earned runs on four
hits. Reece Post (Springfield) worked in relief and
suffered the loss. Brandon Jalass (Omaha) and Will
Hays (Tracy, CA) had two hits and a RBI apiece.
The Bobcats (7-9-1) are scheduled to host
Morningside College in a Tuesday doubleheader
beginning at 1:00 p.m.
